Project “Evildime” is a 1985 S-10 that I swapped a 5.3l aluminum L33 engine into. The engine is straight out of a wrecked pickup truck, and besides the custom Dougherty Racing camshaft that is in it, it’s completely stock and untouched. Countless hours were invested in cleaning the engine and painting covers etc. to make it appear brand new. The power is put through a TH400 with a manual valve body and a Ford 8.8″ rear end with 3.73 gears. Fuel is provided by a returnless system pumped by a Holley HP 150 pump and fed into a custom built 780cfm Pro Systems carburetor. interior of the truck got new carpet and headliner as well as new sun visors installed. The 60/40 split bench seat was out of a 1995 S-10 and required a small amount of fab work to make them fit properly. The stock gauges were removed in favor of a custom set of Speedhut gauges that were installed in the factory locations to keep the appearance as low key as possible. Several recent upgrades include a full set of Viking coilovers and rear shocks, as well as an upgraded and rebuilt tilt steering column and cherry wood steering wheel provided by Scott Burch.
