I bought the 1988 truck as a basketcase a few years ago; but it was (a) straight and (b) nobody had ever screwed with it; it was a total virgin truck, Besides the cab, the only original remaining sheetmetal is the hood and front bumper. I kept it all “stock”, although I added power everything from a 1994 Blazer that had been wrecked (the truck was a stripped down base model). Power brakes, power steering, PW, PL, power mirrors, factory keyless entry, air conditioning and a full Tahoe interior. The suspension is 4-5″ using all Belltech components and KYB Monomax shocks. The paint is PPG base/clear and features a shaved tailgate and roll pan. The drivetrain is still the stock 2.5, 5 speed and I haven’t done a thing to it; I haven’t even had it out of the truck. I did the whole build in less than a year and just debuted the matching trailer at Carlisle this summer. The trailer is a budget build; I bought it mostly done off Craigslist and just reconfigured the tongue and swapped the beds.
